The stiffness doesn't bother me at all.  I like the shortened length too.

Yeah the cable is not bad, it just feels a bit cheap.

It is probably a very good quality inside.

Let share my story with all while we are waiting for the headphones.
Last month, my gtx 580 died on me after 3 years, i replaced it with an 640 and an 560 xD...

Maybe the bass mod will make it so that a firm seal will no longer be needed to achieve <50hz frequencies biggrin.gif

I whish they would use a pretty sparkly nylon jacket over the wire instead of some stupid rubber..
Who likes rubber these days.
No wire wants to wear a rubber anyway.

I say a nice sparkling nylon!
That way we could visualize the placebo energy from the wire!
Huge boost in forcing your brain to magnify it's perceptions to notice an improvement!

Isn't the cabling 8 conductor, 2 copper, 2 silver conductors Per driver? That is my understanding

Just with the baffle fix, and the earpads, and the "mystery prototype->first preorder units wooden cup improvement", and some adjustment on the head (so that the earpads seal completely against your cheeks / around the ears), the bass digs down to 15 Hz easily. There is no "roll-off" persay, only a linear decline in energy.

Proper seal is EVERYTHING with HE560's sub-bass though, that is very different from my HE500 / HE400s. Without a full seal you get crap-all in sub-bass extension or clarity.

Aight, did you find it difficult to get a proper seal?

Wonder what bass mods are they doing still...

So how come some still have the early unit? Didn't you get a request to send it back? (like I did)

I have one of the first units shipped.  I haven't received any request to send it back, is that what we're doing now?

I had a short listening session with the HE-560 today. Overall, I was pretty impressed with the SQ. I would say if it's close to the ZMF in terms of clarity and balance, but it's better in terms of bass. It's really a very gd can.
