I just received an email from my dealer  who got an email last Fri.  from  HiFiman saying that they have uncovered two additional and important engineering changes that affect all He-560's.  He now  said he does not have a shpping date for the final version.

No shipping date yep :/
But I really hope it's soon-ish. Can't wait for my babies cool.gif

Now that my 560s have finally passed the 150 hour mark (burn-in time recommended by HFM), I've started giving them a closer listen. The amount of detail at low volumes is simply incredible! All of the music is there even when you're not pushing them hard.

Of course, cranking them up is also bliss!!

Yep we've known about it for a while now.

Seems like they are doing a lot and I mean a lot of revising. It looks like they want to get this headphone perfect for the final retail verson. Even then, it worries me, because they said these would be released a couple of months ago. I get the need for revision's, but this is a little ridiculous. I shouldn't worry tho', because I'm getting a pair late this year, or early next year. Or better yet, the Jade 2 will be released by this year, or I can always dream.

Info from Fang: they are actually doing more than just "fixes" with the internal revising atm, some small implementations are done to apparently make the bass even better. I already feel the test unit's bass is mindblowing, so that's interesting news.

That's the news I got yesterday too. No info on the new release date though.

Are they still sending out old versions actually? And why aren't all the "sent out version" being recalled? Just wondering

reading about all the small problems and delays

the original release seems like it was rushed.

It's good to hear they are looking into the problems.

But as a potential customer I better wait another 6-12months.

Beeing an early adopter of hifiman products seems always like a bad idea.

You have been so eager to get these. I am starting to feel sorry for you with all these delays.

Hifiman should send you a free pair or at least some more popcorn.

I hope that they'll send the final version to Jerg (bugger pads, yoke fix, other small internal fixes, etc) and once he gives a green light, they'll be ready to ship biggrin.gif
And even though I am eager, I am an international buyer so it's much better for me should HFM get it right the first time wink.gif
No later than the end of May shipping would be neat though... rolleyes.gif

i really hope for hfm and of course the customers that they are finally able to establish a consistency in workmanship. the sound is already there, but to compete you have to also make sure that every hp has a nice finish without failures and the technical failure rate gets very low. because beside the support cases regarding optical issues i am known off, there are several with technical problems like mismatching driver loudness.

i really like hfm for their customer friendly approach. if they get everything right i think they have a very successfull killer headphone :)

Everyone is talking about "final retail version" etc. right now but when I bought the damm headphones two weeks ago I thought I would actually be getting a finished product. I guess it may seem silly to some here to expect that, but I simply didn't know that if you buy Hifimans when they come out it's probably still a prototype, something they could have put on the web page. So now there will be new pads, yokes, driver improvements? Don't I basically have a faulty product compared to the actual "retail version" at this point jeez.

Well, if you like what you have & hear then I don't see the problem?

You can always send them back for exchange or money back I believe.
