The ear pads seem to provide very ample room for my ears. If you want cramped try my Ultrasone Ed. 9. Those are for pixy ears! lol

I am looking forward to the updated version of the HE 560, which I would receive soon and will report on what I hear.

Anybody try any aftermarket cables? I would love to hear them with the new Whiplash gold plated silver cable. I had my Fostex TH900 and the ESW10 JPN redone in it and it is worth it. Not all cable has been positive in my experience but this has been. Nothing more frustrating than buying a cable and finding there is no real change or a negative one.

That travel case for the 560 looks great also. Did something mention something about the fit of the two cases?

The headphones don't actually fit in the case.  I think they had some overstock that they were trying to get rid of.

Maybe they are actually for packing away your older Hifiman headphones

So, buy the HE-560s, get the case, put your old HFMs in there and charge an extra $20 when selling on Head-Fi ;)

I'm curious if the foam (I think it's foam) insert of the case is removable.  If it is, HiFiMan can correct this issue quite easily by sending users a new foam insert to replace in the case to fit the 560/400i :p

No audio impressions unfortunately.  The box looks beautiful though...  And another confirmation that they're light and comfortable, but not as sensitive (400i might be better for this?).

The sensitivities were posted as early as January, for both HE560 and HE400i, basically HE560 is about as sensitive as HE500, and HE400i as HE400. This is WITH the new single-ended design which means half the magnets as before, so no easy feat.

Well, it seems the cable is similar to HE-5LE cable except it's terminated in 6.5 mm jack and not XLR with included adapter to jack like the 5LE?

I'm aware of that as well.  And I'll agree that it's no easy feat.  I wasn't saying it as a negative aspect, or a positive aspect...
