Hah hah! The 60 hz hum from a bad ground adds a nice buzz when you are buzzed!

Is this how you get your ideas of unlimited power reserves to drive headphones? Reserves that are never used are useless. It requires a certain state of mind to think otherwise.

However if you feel more relaxed knowing that you have plenty of power in reserve, this might indeed improve your music listening experience. But imbibing a little more can create the illusion of unlimited power, which would have the exact same effect, though at the expense of some micro-detail.

:)

Small details, microacoustics or whatever do not require power. Poer not used does nothing, Inbibe enough and you can believe in anything. Keep convincing yourself, got to spend more money.

No need for any confrontational tones. we should all feel comfortable expressing our opinions here, and there is nothing wrong with a bit a respectful disagreement among enthusiasts :)

I find that it's best if I share info. Sometimes someone may have more info and I am educated. When it comes to arguing it's pointless.

Some rectifiers will give you 120 Hz for some fine ripple.

That is TRULY fine! Add some 1 KHz sine waves- through in some 6 and 12 KHz Square waves and/ or 2nd and fourth (even order harmonics),8th and 16th order harmonics and I'm in heaven.
Some times I miss the old heterodyne ocillations I could get off frequency on old AM radios!

My SW set was quad conversion with crystal filters, good luck finding an image freq.
