Sure it would be great to have both high quality QC and Customer Service, but usually means very high prices.  If I had to pick one, I'd opt for Lesser QC with Greater Customer Service over Greater QC with Lesser Customer Service any day.

I have very bad luck when it comes to early adopting.  I guess that's why I'm a good tester (especially Beta testing).    So please don't ever take my bad luck experiences as being the norm.  Far from it, I'm just cursed when it comes to electronic toys.:confused_face_2:

Better now than a month from now (ala HE400 release 2 years ago) when it comes to QC. I guess that's why these are called "testing units", lol.

I am sorry but evaluating/comparing  two headphones shouldn't take more than 10mn, unless they both sound incredibly similar.

LMAO that why you dont write or get paid for reviews.

Haha yes that was just a naive post tongue.gif
The more experienced a reviewer is the more he realize what is involved to get an accurate description that will properly convey the sound description to all readers ..

Of course "descriptions" are pretty different than "comparisons"...
Or "initial impressions"

The Oppo is still going through the paces and is getting better with more hours and the HE560 new model has not been shipped to me yet.

This has got to be the most....thing I've read all day long.

Good luck finding out if a headphone will fatigue you in comfort and/or sound within 10 min. SMH.

He did make it clear. He told everyone to wait for the review.

Since you could make the comparison in 10 minutes, why not go ahead and buy both headphones, or better yet, go to a meet and listen to both. You can then write a "definitive review" based on your ten minutes with both cans.

I figure you can spend 30 seconds each with 5 songs on each headphone, then spend the second five minutes documenting your "conclusions" about the strengths and weaknesses of each.

Or you could allow Frank enough time to do it right.

I received a new test unit with the improved baffles just a couple of hours ago (had to part with my old burned-in HE560 to get this new one); opened it up and the new baffle implementation seems fairly simple; just a creatology-ish foam ring of the right thickness, it does the trick though. Some sinewave tests show that sub-bass is extending almost exactly as well as the previous unit I had post-baffle-mod.

Here is a photo.

The wood grains are lighter than the first unit...not sure which I prefer aesthetically. This one is more LCD3-ish, the previous one more LCD2-ish.

Want heavy and uncomfortable - they called even more overpriced LCD-3/X. I can't have them on for more than 30 seconds (NO IT'S NOT TYPO)
