Hifiman HE400 vs Mr Speakers Mad Dogs 3.2 vs Sennheiser Momentum

They're all in the same price range. Looking for a headphone that is good for rock, hard rock, alternative and pop. I'm not looking for a bass heavy headphone but one where you can definitely hear it. Definitely like to hear a clean and detailed sound as well. Which of these three would you recommend?

I understand that they are all in the same price range, but they are not very similar headphones. First off the HiFiMAN's are open back, unlike the other two. The Momentum is a lifestyle headphone. Which means it's more portable, more stylish, etc. Not to say that it doesn't sounds good, 'cause it sounds amazing. I personally am not a crazy fan the Mad Dogs, but it's not me that's buying. For rock, hard rock, etc. I'd opt for some Grado SR225i's. They are amazing for those genre's because they are so attacking and forward. I cannot express enough how good they are for rock. They are open though, so you can't really use them out and about.

In short, if you are using them for home use, get the Grado's.

If you are using them everywhere you are, get the Momentums

Honestly, you may even like the V-Moda M100's. They have more bass than the Momentums, but are less clean sounding. It's your choice. I'd personally get the Momentums.

Amongst the three, HE400. MD is too dark; Momentum is rich but also sort of dark. Regardless, HE400 is on a higher level. It sounds very solid and full, whilst still being fast and clear enough. The bass is not overpowering but you'll hear it. It's more versatile than the others too. halfinfinity's suggestion of 225i is good thinking, provided you do the tape mod. Even so, I think you're most likely to be satisfied by HE400.
