That's sort of the conclusion I reached as well. I would eventually end up there either now or later, but after a number of intermediate steps. May as well get it over with and enjoy!

And yes, a reliable customer oriented company is VERY important to me as well. HeadRoom exemplifies that sort of company. Looking forward to having you on the Max Team!!

Reminds me of that Fram oil filter commercial:

Regarding the Cardas ICs, if you are seriously considering buying a $500 pair I would also try to listen to some Acoustic Zen Matrix (copper) which also retail for that price and can be found used at
Audiogon for @60% of retail if you are patient.

I really like AZ cables and generally prefer them to comparable Cardas products, but as with any cable it is system/personal preference dependent.
