oh i see, of course that makes a lot more sense :-)

Hmmm, just re-read the FiiO website and it does actually say in several places that it currently supports 2x up to 128GB microSD cards, so I guess my question is a moot point!

i also would like to replace my ipod classic and iphone 5 with a DAP perfermante more.
I'd like to start this X5 at a good price also combines many possibilities.
A question for you: I am a long time mac user, used to use itunes for my music, I will have difficulty using the X5 with my Macintosh computer?
thanks

After long investigations and information collected on head-fi, including this thread, I recently bought a Fiio X5 DAP and a pair of Westone W40.

I am fully satisfied, the combo is AMAZING! :-)

I'm set for my portable setup, at least for a while!

Also, I am using the player as a USB DAC at the office, with a O2 Objective Amplifier and Sennheiser Momentum On Ear (black). Sweet. But the Momentum in my opinion are not in the same league with the W40.

Thankfully the westone are better. The Momentum on ear can be bought new (pink version) at amazon for $139 and the other colors for $199. The westone are $499 a they bloody should sound better biggrin.gif

Sorry yes and yes, I originally bought the X5 just as a source for Hugo, but I've really been impressed with it's sound on it's own through various cans!

The HD 650 sounds great through the X5, especially if you replace the stock cables

I was considering an X5 to replace my IPod 160GB.  But as a blind guy, I'm conserned whether I have to rely on touchscreen operation or are there functioning buttons for selecting the contents.  I don't need playlists, or such, but Not having looked at the X5, I need to know if I can use it successfully.

The X5 is not a touchscreen device.  It has five rather large physical function buttons on the front, an on-off button on the top and volume buttons on the side.  One thing that might be a problem, though, is the function performed by some of the buttons changes depending on where you are in the interface.  However, I suspect that, if you can manage an iPod classic, you'll have no problem with the X5 -- and it will sound lots better.

I probably stated the obvious :-)

Now that I'm so happy with the W40, I can't help noticing the fact that the Momentum don't reach the same levels of SQ.

So I guess I will be soon searching for a new closed set (closed because I need a set for office listening). Any advice?

Thanks!

Ok, biggrin.gif

How much do you want to spend on them?

Sorry for late response.

Possibly 1/2h a day when I'm lucky, I'd use this set at office.

Thanks!
