In the hunt for new IEM's

Hi,

So in the search for new IEM's the last time I truly did any research and kept up with new products etc was when I purchased my TPheos H-100's. Since then I never really kept up with IEM's as my next purchase was Sennheiser Amperior's.

Now I need a pair of IEM's for work since listening to music in the workshop is banned with this new license thingy. I don't want to use my Amperiors in work as I don't want them to get ruined with dust and dirt and can't use my H100's as they broke :(.

So need some recommendations! I listen to 90% of the time EDM. So earphones geared more towards that genre would be a bonus. I don't really want to go over £150/ $250 and want something that would be an upgrade to my TPheos H100's

Thanks :D

Just enter whatever criteria you're looking for.

A few good recommendations:

  • Monster Turbine Pro Gold
  • VSonic GR07 Bass Edition
  • Dunu DN-1000
  • Klipsch Image X10

Short of directing you to TheHeadphoneList.com, I feel any one of the recommendations I've made will satisfy. Maybe HiFiMan RE-400s would do, but they lean towards neutrality rather than a bassy signature that would bring EDM to life. They still have a warm sound signature, though, so you won't miss out if you decide you want them.

Of all those recommendations though, VSonic is probably the one to pick.

After doing a quick catchup reading through the forum i've narrowed it down to these:

VSonic GR-07 Bass Edition

Dunu DN-1000

T-Pheos H200

Shure SE215

Rockit Sounds R-50

Yamaha EPH-100

Anyone want to throw out any other underdogs not mentioned?

I think i'm going to go for the DN-1000's only thing putting me off is the size and comfort.

I have no further recommendations. What you have listed is good.

For EDM definitely go for the DN-1000. The R-50 won't have enough bass and the SE215 is rather muddy and a little veiled.

The only thing holding me back going for the Dunu DN-1000's is they look massive and I have pretty small ears and will be moving around a lot so don't want to have to keep pushing them in my ears so need a nice fit.

I have small ears as well and have no problems. I think it depends on the shape of your ear rather than the size of your ear. Wearing them over the ear is very secure and comfortable for me, even on a 10 hour plane flight.

I have small ear canals and the vsonics are by far the best fit.
