What is wrong with my Fiio E10?

Thread Starter

I have had my fiio e10 and the DT 880 pro 250ohm headphones for a few months now and I just now realized that I have to change my playback device in windows in order to make full use of it.  The only problem is, when I change my playback device to the SPDIF Interface for the E10 it is VERY quiet.  When I have high gain turned on and my volume knob at 10 it is at a somewhat normal volume.  I have no idea what the hell is going on, or if this is normal.  I want to contact fiio about it but I don't know if this is even an issue or not.  Could someone help me out?

Edit:  There is also a crap ton of static when I turn my volume up past 5.

I have a feeling your headphone jack is broken on the E10. This happened to mine, too. Try this -connecting your headphones to the Line-Out  port on the back of the E10 and seeing if there's any difference.
