Thread Starter

It's Friday and this is how we do it...

Thorsten is in a good mood. This is what we had for lunch.

For those who are unfamiliar, this is a typical gingerbread man but given the WC theme and despite what has happened, our local Greggs bakery said, no, they are not marking them down!

Turning back to more serious matters. This is a picture of the micro iDSD chassis.

Below is a snippet of a pre-production PCB that is playing tunes:

The R&D team asked us to update you:

- testing pretty much complete

- all the really difficult stuff in software control works a treat

- just a few minor bugs to squash...

From the production dept:

i) Early July - the micro iDSD ships out

ii) Mid-July - in store and available for pickup (around the world simultaneously.)

We shall update with the global launch date once we know when all our major retailers are likely to them in store.

So no major delays of months or anything.

Full speed ahead!

Any questions, just ask. We'll to try to answer without giving away anything too juicy such as OTW#1!

Triple Yay!

The iDSD is on schedule and looking good.

England are out so we can stop hearing about football every five seconds.

I've fitted a new roof to my garden shed without cocking it up.

It's a win all round beerchug.gif

What are you folks going to use for cables and sleeve/band to use between your DAP and iDSD micro?  I'd like to have this stuff ready for when my iDSD arrives.

Thank you

Ok, the only thing I'll ask is:  what is the planned announcement date of OTW#1 ??

Happy to now have my micro iDSD pre-ordered, (OTW#2 sealed it for me)

and awaiting the Special Early Edition model myself in July!

I purchased an Audioquest forest USB cable a couple of months ago and still haven't had the chance to use it. It will connect the iDSD to my pc when at home. The rca out will be connected to my ampli using my good old audioquest coral.

When on mobility I will use the cables provided with the iDSD (hoping to find also a jack to jack cable to connect my nexus 4 to the 3.5 mm input).

If your dap/phone has a usb out that can be connected to the iDSD, then you can use the standard cable provided by iFi since it seems to be pretty good (according tho what I read in the web!)

recommend finding the iFi dealers in your country, and email them and ask.

not every company might be carrying / allowing orders prior to having them in stock.

I was wondering where i can see which file format (DSD, DXD, PCM) is played and which sample rate. Are there any LEDs that would indicate that?

There seem to be no LEDs on top of the unit and there are none on the front.

Not only no LEDs but also a mysterious aperture towards the rear. What can it be? eek.gif
.

that is where you plug in a USB cable from micro iDSD to your phone, and let the micro iDSD battery recharge your phone's internal battery.

(feature explained earlier IIRC)

yeah, i don't see any LEDs on the top, like there is on the nano iDSD. on the pics of the PCB there is an LED right by the USB input...maybe that's used somewhere to show format/bitrate info.

Kinda new here, have lurked since Monday... I'm amazed at the results of this crowd design session. IFI rules and Head-Fiers too!

I own a iDSD nano since may, but I'm pre ordering a micro!

Keep up the excellent work!
