Just checked with Stereo, shipment is delayed by another week. ETA is 24th Aug.

I wish Stereo would proactively update the shipment status but .. oh well .. more waiting

Really? I was there at plaza Sing branch on monday and the person checked system, said it was shipping from US then. I thought by this week i would have received...darn.

Anyway i'm out of country next but was hoping to give it a good listen on the road..hope to get it when i'm back!

It was tough waiting for the iDSD Micro to come in, and even tougher to charge it overnight before use.

That's tougher than breaking that piece of chocolate in two and only eating one of them :)

For the sound and features you get, it's worth the wait.

Massively confused... is the USB input a usb 3.0 or a reverse 2.0??  there seems to be 2 different versions online?

Hi,

Sorry to disappoint but no discounts! AMR policy coming from the top.

BUT there will still be some nice treats in store for iCLUB members. We are chatting to a few other equipment manufacturers at the moment.

We'll see what comes out.

Watch this space.

So what does # 4 mean? What are the benefits of iFi Audio ownership (besides the obvious wonderful SQ)???
There has to be at least one or two Cats that want to come out of the Bag...

The iDSD Micro with the iPhone 5S is delightful to have when traveling daily to work, or a business trip.
Delighted that iFi decided on a female usb port.  The inter-connection is clean & tangle free, with just the Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter.  GONE are the Days of having to stack a player, a separate DAC, and separate Amp, and invest on very pricey copper, silver, gold, interconnects to get the Best out of my music.  The iDSD Micro simply does things Superbly.  Thanks iFi!

Show off your rig here!! http://www.head-fi.org/t/633511/pictures-of-your-portable-rig-part-xvi/13335 I agree. I believe in a future with desktop quality (trans)portable DAC/Amps at the forefront.

MBP->iTunes->BitPerfect->iDSD->V-Moda M100 = pretty dark amazing. The XBass is a lot more tastefully done than I feared. The 3D cross-feed is also very pleasant and interesting but for some reason I prefer to have it off with this set-up. I think V-Moda tuned these to have an artificially large head stage and the 3D probably doesn't work so well with this sort of thing.

What's the verdict on the filters, people? Can't really say much with the M-100's as my cans. Bit-perfect seems to be a shade more lethargic and minimum phase seems to a lot of energy/edge to it. Standard seems to somewhere between the two with a little more rounded sound. I'd say it's closest to "big hifi" sound and the least fatiguing to my ear.

This little box is pretty awesome. From memory, it gives very, very little away to my (sold) Rx-3b & CLAS combo. May be the ALO+CLAS had a bit more depth, but from memory at least (which isn't the greatest guide at times) there's not a lot in it.

I DID try my "big boys" cans on the iDSD (LCD-3s and HD800) but then I was comparing it to my Direct Stream DAC and Liquid Gold amplifier and it wasn't really too surprising to see the iDSD coming second both as a amp and a DAC but that's like saying your Lexus is slow cos an Aventador beat it to the 1/4 mile. What I did learn from that, however, was that seriously Turbo mode wasn't all that necessary - "normal" was sufficient for me, but I guess some folks listen to it louder and yes, things do sound more dynamic with the red switch at Turbo. To my ears, the HD800's like the iDSD better than the LCD-3, but that's just my opinion. To be honest, it was surprising to see something this size driving those things with this much authority. Other than the mk-3b, I can't say the same about anything I've tried. Hugely impressive - not to many dac/amps can claim to drive anything from ear pods, iems, all the way to orthos without starting to show serious strain or noise.

One fun thing I did was to hook it up to my airport express via an optical cable. The iDSD seems to occasionally drop the signal while my audio engine D1 doesn't. May be it's something to do with the signal just during those couple of hours, or may be the AE just doesn't care as much about jitter or something…?

Overall, I cannot be happier with this. I cannot wait to try the iTube with it...
