Looking for headphones under 150$ - Page 2

Well, I have considered the HD 558 and ATH 900x for now. Read they both have  great soundstage.

I listen to trance, light rock and some acoustics. I would consider bass heavy phone for trance , but i hate it when the bass overpowers the mids. I want a clear sounding phone with excellent mids and soundstage along with decent bass that doesn't muddy the mids.

And my source is fiio E6 and Asus Xonar DGX sound card.

He said he prefers closed.  HD558 is good but I prefer the K550 and A900x, which used are in his price range.  The ES FC300's soundstage is also impressive.

If you want open, no option is better than the HD558.

In thst case, you must totally skip the HD558 as they do not deliver in the subbass department.

I also said - I could go for the opens if the opens had a better sq than the closed :)

You are diffidently asking for HD 558. The ATH 900x are closed back, and always remember that open back will deliver wider soundstage. The HD 558 has a crisp/natural bass, making it perfect, for all genres. Watch some reviews of the HD 558 on YouTube. I think, for your price range, the HD 558 are the perfect fit.

The Beyerdynamic DT 770 250ohm is a better headphone with a an amazing soundstage for a closed headphone.

They are advertised to deliver natural/deep bass. They're not that bad. Sorry, but the Sennheiser Veil is something that this guy should experience xD
