Headset comparable to Audio-Technica ATH-M50

Thread Starter

I'm currently using Audio-Technica ATH-M50 with a cheap stand alone mic. I'm looking to buy a new headset with an attached mic with comparable sound to the M50's. I am looking to spend a maxium of $300.00. I will be using them for gaming, skype and listening to music. Does anyone have any suggestions?

P.S - I would really prefer a pair with a mute button

Thank you!!

DT770 Pro 80-Ohm version. It's an excellent upgrade to M50's. It does what M50's can but way better. And also it has good soundstage that M50 doesn't have.

Sony MDR1R (Variants have Mic)

You could always get an Antlion Modmic and attach it to your current cans. Been considering this myself, just haven't been ready to commit the money.

Add HD380Pro (that's 380, not 280).

Another vote to DT770.

Why change headphones when you could just add a mic: http://www.modmic.com/

I have the 3.0 myself, with one of the clips on the left earcup of my ATH-M50S and the other on my screen, for storing the mic when not in use.

Like other have said, you could buy an antlion modmic and keep your headphones.  I have one for sale if your interested.

If not, check out the Sennheiser PC 360.  Excellent sound quality with a very high quality, flip up mute microphone.  Very, Very good for gaming and you can get one for under $200 in the U.S. at Amazon.
