why? Please do not suggest alternatives. Only these two.

If you want something portable, go with the Flats. The cable on the HD 201 is very long and unsuited for portable use. I like the sound of the Flats better also.

Portability doesn't matter that much. I am wondering which one has the best sound quality. HD 201 is expensive than the JVCs.

The 201s are only $20 on Amazon.. Anyway. From my experience with my 201s, they are very light. Mostly comfortable. I do wish the pads were a bit bigger because isolation isn't all that impressive.

I mainly just use them while playing video games. I got mine for $8 at a local thrift store so I can't complain.

Thanks guys. The thing is I am able to buy both at almost the same price. So I am just wondering which one has the better quality. Confused which to buy.

I really dislike the 201. They feel so cheap (well they are...), sound is bad and fit is bad. I would really recommend spending more or you'll be disappointed.

I feel the same way. The HD201s just aren't that great (personally).... again, bad fit and too bright for me.

Save up for a little longer and look for headphones ~$50. Then you'll be much more happy.

Let's just say I want to buy only something from these two. What would you recommend?
Flats or the HD 201? (also considering the Panasonic RP-HX40)

I only expect a good sound quality and a good bass.

Cord length, comfort, loudness are not big issues.

What would you recommend?

The Flats sound good, but the clamping pressure hurt my ears. I had to return them. Never heard the 201's.

Not the 201.

I don't know anything about the JVCs but I'd expect they're crap as well.
