To add to:

V for Vendetta is probably a controversial subject.  It is a big love hate by many.  You are either for the view, or not.  A quite political piece of work by Alan Moore.

Yeah the timing make sense. I only had to judge it with a quick breeze through. I was at my half price books looking to burn a coupon in which I saw it there and just breezed through it. I am sure I would like the content, as I kinda like the artsy stuff that makes you think. After all that I ended up picking up a Death Note manga for my brother. I almost bout a TMNT trade as well, but they seemed kind of pricey (after I got home I found out I could pick it up any where for those prices).

I do have the Invincible Ultimate Collection 1 HC on hold at half price books for their Sunday half off coupon. I am reading reviews on that and its supposed to be amazing for a straight up hero comic. I read that was the writer of the Walking Dead as well. Walking Dead Compendium is officially on my to buy list as well. I have a couple of series that I need to buy trade for first before I buy it though.

Anyways, I am curious if any one else here reads the goon comics? I got my first trade in today, and I did not put it down. The dark humor is perfect, and the little fake ads in between are hilarious. There is an ad for a "Psychic Seal", a mega body building pill that terrorists hate, and my favorite "Billy Lobotomy Kit" complete with a "Removing the vile Minions of Satan through cerebral dissection manual".  The whole concept is genius as well

Goon has been on my need to read list for some time.  Actually forgot about it until now.  Thanks for the reminder, and I will get to reading this asap.

Invincible's a great read, starts off good and gets better as it advances. You want dark? Sin City - A Dame To Die For. Read the book and than see the movie, it's the truest adaptation of a comic ever made!

Interesting. I may have to put that on my to read list as well.

I went to HPB today and picked up the Invincible book, and I also found Wanted TPB with all 6 issues in it. I was going to buy all the issues anyways but its nice to get all of them for $5. I also picked up a couple the Maxx #5 and #13, I was going to buy a bunch of the Maxx comics so I figured I might as well pick those up.

Edit: Just finished Wanted and I gotta say what the hell? Why was the movie even named Wanted? They have almost no relation other than the initial few pages and the initial few scenes of the movie, and the whole do not be afraid to live your life theme. Anyways I thought the comic was pretty awesome, and I kinda wish the movie was a pure adaptation of the comic as it would have been more unique.

I thought Watchmen and 300 were pretty accurate as well if anyone is interested in those.

The graphic novel for Kick-Ass is awesome btw.  Way better than the movie IMO.
