Yeah.. It was justthat I remembered you talking about revisions of 009 earlier in another thread so I thought I'd comment on it.

I am btw spiralling in towards something 'better' and perhaps end game. Exciting times :D

Well keep me updated on that! Pm me when ur done spiralling...

First I need to gain momentum, do my homework and wait for new models, That'll probs be somewhere between ½-1 year, at that point I might buy the headphones unless irresistible offers pop up. They tend to do in this hobby...

After that, we'll see about a better amp and DAC, not even sure the money will be there for it.

You see, I must gear up before going to the university, because at that point the budget will be very very tight for at least 5 years. So I hope to find my temporary end game during the next 1 ½ year, though it is nagging me (alot) that I might not be able to use open headphones at that point (am afraid of roomies and noise)...

Thank you!

Well, university is by itself free in Denmark, even get money for studying (800 euro or so per month). So I won't complain, but budget will be tight anyway, not much room for buying headphones.

Oh, the joys of being a poor student...long time ago here. Good luck though, it's an investment that will allow you to purchase the really expensive toys after graduation and landing a nice job.

+1 I agree, with a good job comes a healthy budget normally.
Just got news my Venom will be different, the builder is going to try stuff out, just as he did with the cable i have now..and how happy i am that he did just that.

So how's Philip Glass sounding on your new rig?
Just got to the 'P' in my music collection..ur tip: philip glass ...wow..on certain songs u hear extremely low male voices.almost humming...so deep...so beautiful..and then the diffrent kind of chellos and bigger violins in several tracks....on some songs u hear they use different kind of chellos... I can hear them perfectly..and the difference in frequency they play in...

After the download i first tested it on my other laptop with the simple usb amp i told u about..and on that amp i couldnt hear half of the different chello types playing together! Only on my rig it all came together..but those looooow voices...u can almost feel them in ur ears.. Dude..thanks for this tip! This kind of music is just what my amp and code-x likes! I want Moar!! Moar!!! wink.gif
One particular track is really funny..u can hear a mobile ringing in the audience and some coughing while philip plays live! So particular that the masterer kept it in, and didnt mix it out..love that track!! I replayed the track couple of times to be sure i actually heard a mobile ringing..it was..very very every softly..just when philip was playing softy..lolz

Anyone has more tips of well-recorded music which can sound wonderful?

Binaural ftw. Ottmar Liebert's Up Close (acoustic guitar).
Ohh, I forgot you have just been at O tongue.gif

Else, the track 'bird on a wire' (cover by Jennifer warnes) sound amazing, though best on speakers. The album is ofc also pretty good.

Lolz..thanks my friend! I hope one day to shake his hand also in person. He is a cool interesting dude huh?any plans letting him make u an amp for u also?

I am probably his only customer here in the Netherlands, and probably for sure his weirdest also!

Last week i was listening to some HIGh quality lossless vinyl rips of Vangelis (24/96?) OMFG!!! This is unbelievable.

I have to force myself not to listen to loudly as i would go deaf for sure! As the sound is so clean u dont get any ringing in ur ears, no matter the volume!!!

This a first to me, never experienced this, that i had to force myself to lower the volume by will and not by my sensitive ears, as my emotion tells me to put the volume higher to get even more of what i hear...this is unreal..am serious now..no kidding! Just got my hands on some SACD Queen music (inuendo) also wink.gif

I will be listening to them later as i am not at home now, am in Portugal because a dear family member has passed away all of a sudden on his holiday caused by a heart attack. So u can imagine i had to pack and go to there to support my family there. But when i am home again i will try out the SACD stuff i got from a friend of mine, and report how that will sound wink.gif

Peace to u all my friends

Please be careful my friend, turning up the volume too much for too long will result in the kind of ringing that doesn't go away and does not require any hardware to hear 24x7.

Glad to hear you are still thrilled by your new audio ride.

I know my friend..thats why i said i have to use my mind (or use my brain) to use the volume knob instead of what i did in the past...with my sensitive ears
But seriously...this is weird..i read same thing about his bigger brother, the NSL..the sound they produce is just addictive and velvet..no roughness or harsh treble to be found...just pure full sound.

But weird is though that for the few (320bps) MP3 tracks i have, i have to lower the volume compared to flac and its even bigger difference in volume with for (24/96) WAV material..wav material sounds the most beautiful/natural but also the quietest..so weird!

And yep..i am still happy with my new toys..and i hope in two months time to get my new cables (headphone and powercables) and my new linear laptop powersupply (as shown on the small clip i uploaded)..

And then i am done..and then its time to think about building a speaker rig for my new almost finished home. wink.gif
