I am sorry to troll, but this hobby is getting stupid: only five years ago no one would have considered a $500 HE500 "good value" (I know, it is good value).

no worries...as log ur honest about ur post and are not here to just post something i guess its okay to post what u believe...its a free world here...as long we respect each other its okay to disagree on something..

i actually had the he500 with a very special modded Darkvoice 337 amp for 2 years and it was and it still is the best dollar/performance deal i ever heard IMHO.

and i dont have the regular 'standard production' NSL speakeramp (if u read my review u would know that)... mine is a 'simplified' but custommade headphone amp/dac version of that..so its cheaper.

and no its not stupid if u wanna spend ur money on something u love...if u love cars and u have the budget why wouldnt u buy a porsche GT3 RS then? u could also buy a 'boring to death' Prius also, as thats considered more normal and it brings u in all comfort from A to B also. As thats what ur stating here with ur post more or less.

but no hard feelings, i know lost of people on the he500 thread share ur opinion..thats why i didnt post my review on the he500 thread and even stopped talking to much about it, as many people on that thread buying mid-low fi stuff (he500 is midfi) just cant comprehend people investing more then 1000usd on a headphone amp (or any premium amp in general), so they react as u do and thats okay. But u have to accept that everyone is free to spend his hard earned money on the stuff he loves.

I hope u agree with that at least :beerchug:

have a good one...

i am now going back to my comfy chair to listen to some wonderful tunes with a glass of red wine in my hand ;)

I did! My MStage ain't dark though. It is somewhat romantic, but it is fairly neutral too :]

I am using the LM4562 though and it is the new 2014 version w/ DAC module... Chances are they are different.

Can't wait tot est it with the 560 :D

Happy listening regardless, mate :beerchug:

I know, I know.  This is the first chance I've had to dive into the thread.  Been busy building a PC (shorting out in the case, runs fine on the bench; new case tomorrow :-) soldering cables, shoveling snow, entertaining the wife... you know, busy.  I still haven't read your impressions, except for the early ones in the first post.  My questions were about those other bits and pieces (power conditioner? what else).  Just a brief explanation of each would suffice, if you feel like it.  (re)Post a pic of one piece, followed by a brief description of what it's for.

I imagine you're in hog heaven right now.  Well, maybe asleep ;)  OK, I'll keep reading, while the wife allows.

HiFi's a special case.  I have no amp envy.  Would like to hear his cans, though.

HiFi's a good guy, he's having a blast right now that his long awaited amp has finally made it home. I see his new nickname is starting to stick. Speaking of shiping costs, his wasn't so bad. A friend of mine just got a horse (Dutch Warmblood) shipped to the US from HiFi's backyard.

Thanks.

re: the horse, maybe the head ended up in some mafioso's bed ;)  That would be a seriously expensive message to send.

Yep the new horse is there, a real beauty. Corrine's other horse, also a Dutch Warmblood, is really pissed off and jealous. Trouble ahead.

Now that you have your new stuff, you're probably scheming on your next acquisition.

Yep already put an order in for...(check my signature for the answer..hint: poisoness..Lolz) and asked also for a quote for a linear better grade custom made power supply for my laptop to replace my noisy standard asus DC switching power supply, 2x blue circle audio BC62 power cables to replace my Aura 14AWG cables And a new audio rack to replace my excellent but worn out atacama equinox rack. Decisions decisions tongue.gif
But all in due time..I always ask for quotes first and buy later.... wink.gif

Yes, you will have to renegotiate an upgrade to the boss's new car.

I'll assume that you can now listen a few dB louder that you've been compromising during your patient wait. Oh the headroom :happy_face1:

So how's Philip Glass sounding on your new rig?
