High End Bluetooth Headphones - Page 18

Great thread, gentlemen,

I'm torn between the Parrot Zik and the Sony MDR1RBT - any thoughts on comparison between these two units? Also, anybody tried the Jabra Revo's yet? I've seen some decent reviews of them online.

First off, if you are get the Sony MDR1RBT, I strongly suggest you get the Sony MDR 1RBTMK2.. The latter looks identical to the former, however, the MK2 has major improvements. It is an UPGRADE to the Sony MDR1RBT.

Everybody knows I swear by the MK2 version, so my opinion might be biased. But, the Parrot Zik, IMO is missing the aptx codec, which IMO again, at this day an age, every bluetooth headphones should have it..

They are both mid range bluetooth headphones..You are not going to see too many English reviews on the MK2, plus it is gray market outside of Asia. I am on my 2nd pair. My first pair was stolen..

Hmmm, thanks for the input. I didn't realize that the parrots lacked aptx and I also didn't realize the MK 2 was that much of an improvement; I thought the upgrades to those 'phones were mostly cosmetic. I usually run Etymotic ER4pts, but I have found the cable to be a bit of a PITA when I boarding and unboarding trains and planes. Could you give some insight into how the sound quality of the MK 2's is as compared to good pair of "neutral" sounding wired IEM's?

BTW, I found some vendors of the MK 2 on ebay but they seem to mostly be from South Korea. No idea how sketchy they are.

I realize that these are the first iteration of the Sony's but this seems like a good deal at $187:  http://www.rakuten.com/prod/sony-bluetooth-headphones-stereo-black-mini-phone-wired-wireless/240785674.html?c3ch=Linkshare&c3nid=lw9MynSeamY&adid=18094&siteID=lw9MynSeamY-EAvu_G_kHsgrOOml.iwumQ

That's definitely a good price - I wonder what the differences are between the MK 1 and MK 2 versions of these Sony 'phones?

The Sony MDR 1RBT does NOT have aptx. The Sony MDR 1RBTMK2 has aptx and about 4 to 5 other improvements too. The two are identical on the outside. The MK2 is only stated on the box.. I got both pair of MK2s from accessoryjack, $309 first pair, second pair was $304. Shipping was $25. Warranty is taken care of by accessoryjack. As is, if warranty is needed, item must be sent back to accessoryjack with all original packing. Acessoryjack will send the item to Sony for warranty work, and then send back to you..  Shipping time from Hong Kong to me (USA) was 9 days each time.  If you get from Ebay, be sure to ask before you buy, how will warranty work be handled if needed.

Now, I am a newbie, just been into headphones. Only had the two had the two in my sig.  I have ordered two more sets of headphones all I can say, is the Harman Kardon and Sony MDR 1RBTMK2 are keepers for me. BTW, the Sony MDR out classes the Harman Kardon BT easily..

Thanks again for the info. Never been much of a HK fan myself, so glad to hear that the Sony unit is better :-).

Well in terms of price, there really aren't any costing more than the Zik's (that I'm aware of) but then again I got that refurb'd so was good value for what it is. I've considered the Senn's MM 550-X but held off due to the mixed reviews (despite the recent $100 drop too). Still considering the 1RBT MK2's and am on the sideline re: the Creative Aurvana Platinum (just can't see myself wearing these in public as they're a bit gaudy looking). The Phiation Chord MS 530 are unfortunately on ear's which I feel will be problematic comfort-wise.

Out of these though, I think the 1RBT's will be my top choice (I know they are cehoward's) ;o)

@birarda - would love to hear your impressions re: the AF62 vs. the 10RBT's.

just ordered from amazon.com, I got af62 for free ,because all the $110 gift card is all from my ipad's freemyapps points. I play it long time though. I live in canada ,this gift card only works in us, and my 3.5 years sennhaiser mm450 had a problem since last month  it sometimes has crackling sound coming from the left cup, I think it's the cable's problem ,maybe broken, most time it's working fine. I really like it using it everyday, it's just the good time to find a new BT headphone to use my gift card, Thanks for your guys posts ,will see this baby is better than mm450 or not. I hope I can get af62 before I head to China on May 27th. The Amazon Delivery estimate: May 19, 2014 - May 23, 2014.

 Don't be late baby , I can't receive you in China。

A lot of people in this thread are the same. Can't stand wires for headphones and always end up breaking them.

Have any you guys tried the Phiaton MS Chord 530? I was just wondering because from the reviews that I have seen, they seem to be pretty good.
