For Sale:
2 month old Sennheiser HD800s - perfect condition

Will Ship To: Anywhere

Regrettably, a sudden financial need is forcing me to sell my, practically, almost brand new

Sennheiser HD800 headphones. The phones were purchased about 2 months ago, as I saw a lovely

promotion from the distributor pop up, and I didn't wanna miss it. Had to take an advance on my

paycheck from the boss, but it worked out nicely. Been enjoying them ever since!

The phones are in flawless technical and cosmetic condition, photos are included, of course. Luckily,

since they're practically new, as they haven't yet seen extensive usage, the earpads are still in

great condition. Aside from that, no dents or scratches whatsoever. I'm selling the full HD800 set,

including packaging, manual, and the lovely box they rest in.

I am setting the price at 880 USD, mainly because, as I said, I got them on a pretty nice promotion

from the distributor, and because I'd need to sell them fairly quickly. I was hoping to cover the

financial need for this sale by having another advance on my salary, but my boss says it's a no-go,

and I don't see any other choice. Price is open for discussion, but within reasonable limits.

I have a Verified Paypal account, and payments via Paypal are welcome. The phones will be carefully

packaged and thoroughly sealed, in order to prevent any possibility of damage while they are in

transit to their new owner. I am ready to split the shipping expenses with the potential buyer, or

even cover them myself if they do not exceed a certain threshold.

you'll need to give us some references, links to feedbacks, etc. with no feedback here and a recent account with very little posting history, this does not pass the smell test. please give us more info to prove me wrong. thanks.

while i always like to give the benefit of the doubt, i'd want a little feedback myself,

with the price being what it is, my little "too good to be true" flag goes up

but it could be a killer deal !

Just out of curiosity, what's the worst thing would happen if you use paypal not gift to send the money before you receive the hp?

Thanks!

You'd have to wait 30 days and prove that the item was never received. Then you could file a claim.

Wwysh, I second that.
If it were bank transfer or money order it is a red flag.
With Paypal you have a solid protection.

There is a scam around this though -- I was unfortunate enough to fall for it. I bought a pair of HE-400's new for $210 (this was before the MSRP price drop), then regretted it b/c it was too good to be true.

It was. What the seller did was ship an empty box to another address with the same zip code, so USPS tracking shows that it was delivered to MY zip code.

I had to spend 5+ hours on ebay buyer protection to get my money back -- filed 2 claims that were denied instantly b/c the tracking showed that it was delivered to my zip code.

I'd flag this too -- with him joining 2 months ago and 19 posts with no feedback. Send me the 'phones for 900 and I'll paypal you the money once I receive them.

Sorry for the delay in responding, guys. I see a heated discussion's in effect already. Didn't think that the fact I don't have any feedback on Head-Fi yet would stir up the spirits like that.

As one before me already pointed out, you're safe with Paypal. BOTH sides are safe with Paypal, actually - one of the main reasons Paypal are that big, and are the main choice for this type of transactions. No matter what happens, you could always file a claim and get your money back. Paypal are famous for siding with the buyer in 90 % of the cases anyways.

I, on the other hand, can't get anything back, if something goes south, for some reason - the headphones will have been sent, and I cannot get them back once they've left my country. I do realize that most of you have pristine reputation here on Head-Fi, but I am not willing to risk it. Another pretty important thing is, as I mentioned in my classified, I am not selling the phones because of a sudden whim. I'm doing it because I need the cash, invested in them.

Yes, true, I don't have any feedback yet. I reckon that's how you all started out, even though you might have already forgotten about that.

I'm sorry if I don't fit into your ideal for the perfect seller. It is what it is, and I am who I am.

i can't speak for the other's, just me, my comments were not heated in any way, and if i weren't "tied up with too much gear" i'd be interested

its just your price being what it is, and not having any feedback here, and no mention of any feedback from ebay, audiogon, etc

just causes me to be veeeeeeery cautious, my first thought was "the price is too good to be true"

i've certainly priced things for quick sells, they just weren't at the level of the hd800

and i've bought gear from those with little, or no feedback

now, as for a seller being protected, i'd recommend insuring these when shipped

again, it was not my intention to be malicious at all, good luck, you'll sell them i'm sure !!

To comment on an earlier shipping issue. USPS tracking is on address, not zip code.

There are genuine 'too good to be true' deals.
Like $375 for a pair of Denon LA-7000's I bought on head-fi.
Or a Primaluna Dialogue 2 worth at least $1,750 for $1,250 on eBay.

If I were in the market for these cans I'd jump on it without hesitation,

Mr George the pictures provided in this post aren't yours and are older than 2 month (your date of purchase)

The 3rd picture is from a youtube video made by mike aka hifiguy (who is a member of this forum.)

Here is an other one found on an Indonesian forum http://archive.kaskus.co.id/thread/3276107/1200 from early 2012.

So I am sure you can see why people here don't trust this deal...
