For Sale:
SOLD: Astell&Kern AK120 - Mint - 7 Weeks Old - Complete

Will Ship To: USA

Hi everyone,

I previously listed my AK120 as well as a friend's, but after selling my friend's unit, I decided that I would keep my AK120 even though I had preordered an AK240. After receiving my AK240—and realizing it was smaller than I had envisioned and better sounding than I had expected—I've decided to go ahead and sell my AK120.

I purchased my unit from Ted at teds headfood (a member here) about 7 weeks ago. He is an authorized dealer and the unit I received was factory sealed. Since it is so new, it is still in mint condition although the leather case has a few very minor blemishes—to be expected with natural fine leather.

As you can see from the picture, everything included is also in excellent shape. By the way, the picture shows a slight discoloration on the upper far right side of the case: this is not a blemish, just the natural crease in the leather between the upper and lower sections.

The unit is fully broken in since it has about 400 hours of play time on it. I'm including the HDtracks sampler of high rez files that came with the AK120. The latest firmware, 1.37, is installed.

I have perfect feedback with the current system as well as the previous system Head-Fi employed. You can read that feedback here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/399145/jwbrent

The purchase price includes USPS Priority shipping. Please add an extra 3% for Paypal.

Thanks for looking!

By the way, my relatively new unit has the distinct advantage of only a few battery cycles. The 400 hours of primarily burn-in time was done with the AC cord attached.

An older AK120 for sale may have 50 or more battery cycles which means a battery replacement will be needed much sooner than my unit. Just a thought ...

Hi John,

My name is Tom aka speedracer1  I live in NY actually Long Island.  I've been kinda between the HIfimam 901 and the AK120 DAC players.  I have a few questions I would like to know:

How come your unit is only 7 weeks old has over 400 hours on it?

You purchased it brand new correct?

Is the warranty transferable to a second owner?

Do you have the original bill of sale?

Do you have any problems with the unit electrically, software or hardware wise?

Is it operating 100 percent correctly?

Does the unit have any scratches or scuffs at all? (Sorry I'm just really picky)

You can reach me at speedracer1.smart@gmail.com  Thank you and sincerely Tom

Hi Tom,

I changed the heading to reflect I had sold the 120 a few days ago. To answer your question on why I have so many hours on it, I burned it in for 24/7 the first couple weeks I owned it.

John
