Improving the sound of beyerdynamic dt 990 32 ohm headphones

Hello,

I recently purchased a pair of 32 Ohm Beyerdynamic dt990 premium headphones and I have found that the bass is muddy and that most symbols sound quite tinny. I am primarily running the headphones from a 160 gigabyte iPod Classic.

I was wondering if an amplifier would fix these issues, or if its best to cut my losses and try to sell these headphones.

The dt990 is just like that. No amount of amplification will magically transform its sound significantly.

I would've gotten the dt880 or ma900:cool:
