Noontec Zoro HD review

Hello, thanks for the compliment :D

I do not currently have the Zoro HD with me at the moment as I loan it out to my friends; the ZoroHD is having a mini tour around. I have never listened to the AKG K451 but IMO, the Zoro HD (overall) sound better than ATH-M50. In comparison, the Zoro HD although less punchy, it offer better control. The less spiky treble of Zoro HD makes it easier to listen to IMO. Keep in mind though, the comfort of the Zoro HD aren't that great. If comfort is a must, the Sennheiser HD439 although more warmth (with very very slight hint of muddies) and darker in sound, is actually more comfortable, and the soundstage and imaging is better on HD439 than Zoro HD. Other than that, I prefer the Zoro HD better.

What genre of music do you listen to?

Hope it helps
Billson :)

Thanks.. I listen to a variety of stuff.. Quite a lot of power metal, regular metal like Maiden, rock (Dire Straits, Marilion), as well as easy stuff, from Abba, Neil Diamond, Roy Orbision. About the only genres I don't listen to are current pop or rap/hip hop etc. I'm old school ( or just old!)

You might like the Sennheiser Amperior, at least I did for the genres you specified ... Then again we are talking about the Zoro HD, which is a lot cheaper at the moment

Eek! Yeh, just looked those up on Amazon.. £200! Way out of my price league! That's what attracts me to the Zoro so much.. They seem to have it all going on, with a stupidly low price, and just for good measure they look as snazzy as hell! Admittedly, I'm not bothered what they look like, or if people assume I'm wearing "fake Beats"; I care about one thing only, and that's how they sound, not what people think I look like wearing them. Obviously comfort comes into it, but SQ is paramount!

They were a mere £59-ish in the US during the Black Friday season

Amazing sound for the money they were ...

I like the Zoro, but they are built worse than beats loool

Would definitely recommend these over the Zoro, better SQ and in Build:

Not sure how the shipping is, but these are some serious contenders.

I could consider to have comparable build quality but not worse IMO

Most people don't seem to be fans of the Zoro plastic hinges.  A few reviews on Amazon reported cracks and such.  I haven't had a problem except the black cover on one end of the cord getting cracked up.

Personally, I think that if you aren't bending them in some weird fashion, they should be fine for a long time.  My pair is coming up to the one year mark (of heavy use and carry) with no serious issues at all.

i had my pair (the noontec zoros non-hd) for about a year and a half now its been babied soo much. surprising the hinges are still fine. it collapse so easily now that plastic nubs are rubbed off by friction. (essential if i the headphones to the left it just collapse due to the shift in balence)

anyways mines actually had cracks on the outside of the earcups, near the logo. 4 actually 1 hairline crack and the others are about medium cracks ( i will upload some pictures

not sure if the camera picked it up but i did have to superglue it, so it won't break, not the prettiest thing but oh well, i rarely wear these outside. it isolation is lacking,

It is exactly what Beats uses on their Solo HD [I am not sure about the new Solo 2 but probably the same], and I have always worried that it might crack although I have not have such issue :)
