I was wondering if anyone knew enough about plasma lamps and headphones to know if using a plasma lamp as a headphone stand is safe. I think it would be a unique and very cool way to showcase a pair of cans.

My brother has one... I'll try it out and let you know! My only concern would be the heat...

Yeah, just don't burn out your headphones in the process!

Well, the lamp doesn't work but at least you can get an idea of how'd it look. This style lamp doesn't seem to make a good headphone stand, the shape is wrong. But you've given me ideas for making a cool stand! Time for some internet searching for cool lights!

Oh gotcha. Yah that would probably work better, the lava lamp gets way too hot and would probably damage the headphones anyway.

The Plasma globes might be electrostatic though, so I'm worried about some ******* with the headphones. Might try some crappy headphones on a friend's plasma globe.
