Cable problem with Soundmagic E10s - any suggestions, please?

Hi

I have a Sansa Clip+, which I really like, and until recently I was just using cheap Sony headphones costing £9.99. Then I tried the Kilipsch Image S3, which I hated, then changed them for the Soundmagic E10, because of all the rave reviews. But I'm having problems with them.

The sound is very good, but I just hate the cable. It's hard plastic, and as springy as a roll of barbed wire. This means that it never behaves itself - it springs out of the opening in my jacket, and it sometimes presses onto my cheeks, which feels unpleasant. It also produces a lot of microphonics. I feel the makers just haven't put any thought into them.

I like the look of Westone's braided cables, but their products are a bit out of my price range.

So can anyone here suggest some in-ear models I should look at? I can go up to about £60, and I listen mainly to classical music.

Sorry if I sound a bit nit-picking, but those cables really bug me. Thanks.

I know the E10 cable rather well and can agree with you about its unsubtle behaviour, have you considered placing the cable under you shirt? Not just in your jacket but under the first layer of your clothing

Maybe get a shirt clip as well?

60 pounds is around $100 and you can get the Astrotec AX35 with that which are awesome for the price. The DN-1000's little brother :)
