Rockbox for iBasso DX50 dual boot with stock firmware - Page 21

aaah, got it, thanks cooperpwc.

rockbox really rocks ! now i dont have to sell dx50 over j3 :) .

1. is there any setting how i can get it playing all files even the ones inside the album folders or ill have to copy all music files under one folder ?
2. is there any way how to " add to playlist "? so i can add files to playlist on the run ?

3. seekbar should work for fast forwarding track or start track from the middle for example, like on the original fw and every other player!

Are you talking about updating DX50 to RB or making the adb connection to DX50 work?

I don't think updating to RB itself is any more complicated than flashing the stock FW.

it's making the connection. flashed the dx50 like any other firmware - worked flawless. but now i still have that "Android" as Code 28 under Device Manager.

Sorry you lost me there, what exactly is the problem and what are you trying to do? I'm guessing you are trying to use adb to make a connection to RB DX50? Not sure if that is an error message. But if you are unable to establish a connection via adb, you have to add the DX50's vendor ID to the .android/adb_usb.ini file.

I still have problem on restoring DX50 org. firmware after I have done to wipe and reset default in CWM.

In the CWB, I can only select the /cache directory. I can use adb to push the update.zip into /cache, but, it seem it cannot recognize it.

Thus, I unzip the update.zip into update.img, but, it prompt out the directory full error, thus, can anyone advise how to recover my DX50....:confused_face_2:

Now, I can only boot in Rockbox mode, and I cannot switch back to Mango system.

Help!!!!

thx

Anyone hear downsampling their hi-res files (24 bit) to 16 bit. What apps are do you use? I am currently using XLD, but if anyone knows a better solution it's much appreciated

It feels like downsampling to 16 bits is the most efficient way to playback files in RB and to store more files within a 64GB SDCard.

thanks,

for the record, step one I did a factory reset and then it was ok. (my iMac got crazy with looping through mounting and 'forced'-unmounting for some reason but the macbookpro was ok).

Im going to download RB now :) (seems like there are commits after the 15th but not a build version.)

i though it performs very well, because it remained in the 90s for a long time, but from 90s to 0 just in like 10 min ..

so i charged it again tried to monitor it through running time in the system options, but it discharged in about 3 hours 30 min playing flacs.

to be honest i never knew how much it lasted on stock firmware, thats why i ask because i might have a faulty battery, but if not faulty then i think it is rated to last much more than that ..

i wanted to update my opinion about the battery,

the running time app on rockbox, its either stupid or i don't know how it works, but it just give anytime other than the up time, i based my previous test on it.

I did another manual test and left it running since 3 am till 2:30 pm thats around 11 or 12 hours which is pretty good, it was shuffling flacs on medium gain .. and the running time still shows 4 hours DUH !

So i just have to correct this because i was wrong about it,

and also i need to ask one question, the screen turns on alone every 5 min without touching any button, anybody faced this problem ?

The screen stays off unless I press any physical buttons. Touch the screen doesn't turn it on for me.. Does it happen also when the lock button is on?

Check your backlight settings. You may have Caption Backlight enabled. That turns on the backlight with every new song that starts.

Settings -> Theme Settings -> Font -> 16-GNU-Unifont

Sorry if I'm wrong. I'm using iPod Classic rockboxed but I think it is identical to the DX50.

DX50 doesn't have a real time clock. This forces the Linux kernel to rely on its internal ticker which is unreliable when the CPU changes operating frequency.
