Looking for monitor headphones

Thread Starter

Hello! This is my first post, and I'm wondering which headphones I should have. I usually use a pair of Audiotechnica ATH-M50 because they're easy to lug around and because they're backs are closed, and nobody will be able to hear my music (I walk around a lot). I'm looking for a pair of open back headphones that can give me quality at a good cost. If it isn't too much trouble I'd like to know which headphones would you guys recommend? My budget is about $100-$200. If there aren't any good headphones for that price I apologize. Thanks for reading!

Some questions:

What will you be using your headphones with (PC, music player make/model, etc.)?
You are asking for "monitoring" headphones. Are you doing monitoring for audio production?
What kind of music do you like to listen to?
What are you trying to approve upon (or not) from the M50s? What do you want to stay the same?
Open to buying a headphone amp if you don't have one already?
