Really need help finding adaptor for in-ear mould

I really need someones help, a few years ago when I was in the military I was issued personal moulded in-ear protection before deploying to Afghan. They are amazing at their job of noise cancellation but now that I am out I don't need hearing protection and really want to use them as earphones. They have the capability as they have the hole through them for some kind of adaptor as they are made to be used in conjunction with radio comms etc.

Anyway I really have no idea what I am looking for, I tried googling all sorts of things but have no idea what the adaptor, or whatever I need to connect to my ipod to play music through, is called. After looking around these forums I'm sure one of you pros will be able to point me in the right direction, thanks in advance.

You could get a handheld drill with a bit matched to the diameter of the bore on a given IEM. Take note that even with the diameter matched to fit properly, if the length of the custom mold doesn't match the specs of the eartips you prefer for it, you might end up changing the sound too much.

Given some companies make custom IEM tips for about a hundred bucks, you might want to keep the issued custom molds for what it was originally intended for. Except this time instead of a squadmate firing a 50cal next to your head it would be at a concert if you find yourself standing next to the speakers, or at the front row seats near the finish line at Daytona. I'm cheap so I just use whatever IEMs I have, but with the tightest-fitting tips (that don't necessarily sound the best or most comfortable).

A drill's your best bet, just make sure the attachment you use is the same diameter as the bore on your IEM.
