Denon AH-D340 or Beats by Dr. Dre Monster Solo HD?

Thread Starter

I am wondering about buying a new headphone and found these two interesting:

Denon AH-D340: http://www.denon.co.uk

Beats by Dr. Dre Monster Solo HD: http://www.beatsbydre.com

I have tried them both and don’t feel that the one is better than the other. The price is at almost same level.
I’m going to use them mostly on the travel – at the bus etc. It seems like the treble is a bit clearer at the Denon – cause of the higher frequency. But as I am to use them in a bus, I wonder if I am going to take advantage of this? The Beats seems a little more noise isolating than the Denon?
Which do you prefer and did I miss another headphone at same price level and quality?

I think Denon make great headphones, love my AH-D2000s,but I don't think Monster do. Hope that clears that up.

I would also look at Audio Technica ATH-ES700

Check out the ATH-M50 from Audio Technica

Denon, screw Beats!

I refuse to listen to Beats again. They sound terrible. I would go for the Denons without question.

I'm going to have to also advise against the beats.  I doubt anybody on this forum will ever suggest that you buy beats. There's almost always better headphones for the same price unless somebody is selling you a pair for dirt cheap.
