Good morning,

I have a question on 24/ 192 HD music & media player. I have a portable amp "vorzuge amp pure I" on hand, and would like to upgrade my elder age mp3 player to iBasso DX50.

my concern is if I player 24/ 192 flac file with my vorzuge amp pure, will it reduce the source file quality ? Is the DSD amp connect for HD music player is a MUST?

Thanks for opinions to a very beginner .

So, few things... Your amp is just an amp — it has no idea what the source material is, and is merely amplifying an analog signal. The differentiation between, say, a 44.1/16 PCM stream and a DSD stream happens at the DAC stage, which, in this case, would be in your DAP. That is to say, there are DSD DACs, not DSD amps. An amp labeled as such would be for the sake of an inbuilt DAC.

DSD is not 24/192, so if you want a unit that handles native 24/192, that's what you should look for, not DSD. I believe the iBasso handles 24/192, so just load it up, connect its line out to your amp, and… I think that about answers everything.

thanks brhfl. I think I have got your advice. ^^ ~

and may I ask one more, there are few new portable amp are highlighted they're High Res, for example "sony pha-2" ... written on the spec are ... PCM 192/24 ... DSD 2.8mhz / 5.6 mhz

is these product load to the 24/192 mp3 player is getting better ?

So the Sony PHA-2 is not just an amp, it's a DAC too. That's the reason that it lists specs like that. I don't know this equipment well enough to say which is better, you'd probably be better off asking in DX50 thread if people see a benefit using an outboard DAC with it, etc... or even if it's compatible (I don't know what the digital output situation is like on the DX50). If you're just concerned about getting the highest resolution files, etc... the 192/24 is the same, and to get DSD output into the DAC your DAP would need to be willing to convert to DoP, or you'd have to convert these files to DoP externally, and the DAP would have to be able to stream out at the appropriate rate, bit-perfect.
