Looking for budget headphones (earbuds or on-ear)

Thread Starter

I'm looking for a budget pair of headphones. The sole purpose of these will be for laying back in bed and watching movies/anime. Maybe listening to some tunes as well.

I already have a higher end music setup at my computer and not looking for anything major for my purposes.

I just read through a similar budget thread and saw a recommendation for the Soundmagic ES18's. Those are only like 12 bucks and reviews look great! That would be quite a steal. I also want to open the possibility to on-ear headphones, so hopefully I can get some recommendations for a good pair to take a look at. I just don't want any of those bulky on ears, where wearing them in bed would be bothersome and take away from the experience.

Since the purpose will be mainly bedroom use for watching some TV/movies at night, I'd like for them to have some decent bass and good clarity. Maximum budget is about $50... so anything under that is okay.

Sennheiser PX-100 II has been my favorite bed time headphone for years. They're warm, smooth sounding and with lots of bass presence for such a tiny thing.

Might also be the most comfortable headphone I've ever worn.

Definitely worth considering.
