AKG 545 and iPhone 4S mobile setup recommendations

I have a pair of AKG 545 headphones and Beats Music on iPhone 4S as a source, which streams 320kbps audio.

What would i need for better sound quality? Amp/dac? or just an amp? Or is the iphones dac sufficient enough?

I'm looking for a sound signature kind of like the K545 but with more clarity and tighter bass

Thanks for any responses

an amp prolly would make them sound better. I have the k545 running from a little ipod myself now, but plan on getting a schiit asgard 2 ($250) and play from a cassette player instead of the ipod. check it out and find out from others first if you can even run from and iphone to an amp to the headphones as I'm not that technical.

Thanks so much for the response.

the amp you mentioned is out of my price range though. i forgot to put that in the main question

I'm looking for a cheaper one under $100 maybe under $50

i also really like the look of fiio's products, so are there any of those that you'd recommend? and also do i need an amp, a DAC, or an amp/DAC for the iPhone 4S? which one would be best? and I'm streaming 320kbps beats music as my source

I'm also looking to keep my setup small and portable

Thanks

I'm thinking about ordering the FiiO E11. Anyone else have a suggestion?

Unless you need the power to drive your AKGs I would avoid the Fiio products or most if not all inexpensive amps. They have a great deal of power and a built in bass boost but they distort easily and introduce artifacts into the sound. If you don't need the power do not bother amping.

I originally used a Fiio E11 with my iPhone and Shure SE535 and realized that the sound was cleaner with greater clarity straight out of my iPhone than using the E11.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I think I'm going to go with the amp as I found one on amazon with an extra battery and charger for around the same price. In my opinion I think the sound is a little quiet with my headphones and iPhone alone and, juging by product reviews for the e11, I think it might improve quality for my headphones.

BUT if I don't end up getting it, what other portable amps would you recommend for the iphone? and what about DACs for iPhones?
