Over the ear, open, deep bass

Hello,

I currently have M-Audio BX5a Deluxe studio monitors which are exactly up my alley and play everything I throw at them wonderfully.  I listen to a lot of EDM, particularly styles with an emphasis on deep sub-bass but not exclusively.  I would like to know what headphones I should be looking at when coming from something like the BX5a studio monitors.  I prefer the over-the-ear and open-back which I understand this limits my options when it comes to deep sub-bass.  I've seen some recommendations on the DT990, but I was wondering if there were any other headphones I should be looking into.  I really don't want to spend over $300.

Thanks.

What is your music source (DAC, soundcard) and do you have a dedicated amplifier?

The Sennheiser HD600 or HD650 are the first that come to mind, but both need a bit of power to truly shine.

I have a sound card and have no problem buying an amp.

HD600 would probably make a better choice.

They're a bit easier to drive/get the most out of, and cheaper.

Probably better suited for electronic music as well.

In terms of amplification the HD600 can do pretty well even out of a high quality soundcard or an affordable dac/amp. It ultimately depends on your budget.

Btw, what make and model is your soundcard exactly?
