Klipsch M-40: What's The Deal?

I bought a pair of Klipsch M-40 headphones because one of my 2 surround sound system uses Klipsch speakers and they sound great. Also, I got the M-40s at 65% off their M.S.R.P. of $349. The build quality/style is the best I have in my headphone collection. The "clamping" effect from the headband can be solved by attaching the phones to the width of the headphone box for a few days. It loosens up considerably. My issue is sound quality. I admit I don't have them broken in yet, but they don't sound very good at all. Not even close to the M.S.R.P. and not very good even at $140. Am I missing something or are these just not very good headphones? Anyone who has these, please comment.

Hello,

I've bought the M-40 from amazon thinking I was grabbing a really good deal (was ~60% discount, costing 109£).

After a day of hearing them I was so disapointed I decided to send them back. However my roommate tried them out and decided to keep them.

After a month of usage, I've asked him to try the M-40 and I kept the same opinion. No highs at all, too much bass and boxy. At that price there are a lot better options.
