I have the A3's and the Z5's from the ones you've mentioned and the P1 has enough power to amplify those with its eyes closed so to speak, not sure why you'd want to make it bulkier than you have to, the whole beauty of this DAP for me is that you don't need an external amp especially with IEM's.

True the Cowon has enough power and it has no need of an amp. this amp does bring things to the Cowon and it allows the Cowons battery to last more than 10hrs. I have three Arrow amps cause I like it a lot. No issue with size, Fits jeans pocket easily. I walk, rake trains and buses more than 3 hrs everyday with no issues.

True, the battery life is the biggest achilles heel of this wonderful player.

I also combine the Arrow with the P1. It improves the soundstage and separation, and I always have the bass amped up a bit to setting I. Concerning bulkiness, it's about 5mm thick.. you really wouldn't believe how small it is until you see it.

Somehow I think it looks smaller in real life than on the pics though :)

anyone who has doubts about the headstage arrow 5tx and what an amazing amp it is, should really not waste time and keep speculating, its the best iem amp ever so tiny with the best sound you can hope to get and amazing bass and treble settings

I am using it with ak100ii and my shure 846 and sony z5 iems and boy its magical

i highly doubt a standlone dap can give me the same pleasure as the stack i use ak100ii with 5tx
