Dunu DN-2000 - Hybrid Impressions Thread (It's Here!)

Just means you are probably looking for a more energetic, in-your-face type of sound.  Nothing wrong with that.  And Titans will sound wider because of the venting - the con is isolation suffers. I'm surprised you find them similar though =- they are quite different in sub-bass, upper mid-range and lower treble.

The Titan 1 has a real bump in the upper mid-range which can be quite addictive. The DN2000J is actually closer to their signature (see graph) - but they are a lot brighter - so bear that in mind. If you want another higher isolating alternative to the Titan 1 - might pay to check out the Delta V2.

Of course with the Delta V2 you also have a choice of seven other filters, and the cables are replaceable ......

I have the original Delta though, which is great. Is there a big difference between VI and V2?

Truth be told they are pretty energetic and they do sound good, again I'm just saying they aren't £200 good. If they were half that price I'd give them 5 stars... but at £200 3.5 maybe. The Mee P1s... they're worth the same money as they have a WOW factor (even though they're possibly the most unforgiving sets I've had yet lol.... jeeezzzz they dislike low bit rates lol).

I was after something that was different... a  more detailed set. When I read reviews a lot of people said the  Dn 2000 uncovered more micro detail than the Mee P1s... not that i could hear. The P1s even being much warmer and thicker sounding brought out far more 'hidden' details. I think the DN2s and Titans bring out detail equally as good. I'd go as far to say that the Havi Pro 1 s are more detailed.

... what i will say... it shows just shows me how good the Titan 1s are that i can't find anything to top them yet :)

I may have overblown the expectations of the Dunu 2000s in my head. I hope I'm not doing the same with Senn HD 650s as I'm planning on buying them tomorrow lol... if they let me down I'm giving up this hobby. Can't keep telling suppliers things don't fit right haha

Hey guys I've been thinking of picking up a pair of 2000s since my last pair (heir audio 3.ai) are now resting in IEM heaven due to an unfortunate accident relating to a pet parrot. Anyways I really liked their fun and v shaped signature... What do you guys say?

If you prefer a fun V shaped I'd look at the Dn 1000s. I found the 2000s mids very in your face and too forward. It got very fatiguing quickly. They are also too smooth for me. The 1000s have better bass imo, it is thicker but still accurate. the 1000s are so much fun, more energetic. I also find the 1000s more detailed probably down to better treble.

You can get the Fiio EX 1s too. Formerly Dunu Titan 1s (rebranded). They are a lot of fun and just £49. Don't let cheap price fool you though. These have the most unique soundstage you'll find due to their many vents. Both are better than the Dunu DN 2000s for that fun V shape you like.

Well, the thing with the Titans is that I really dislike half in ears... And I've heard the 1000's are uncomfortable.. I'm usually listening to music hours on end and I sometimes sleep with my earphones on. What do you guys think about the Alcair curve? Though it should be a bit on warmer side... (Btw I have no sensitivity at all to treble) :)

Dunu 1ks are not uncomfy, I use for hours. They are near enough identical to the 2ks from my memory

Alclair Curve review - http://www.head-fi.org/products/alclair-curve-new-tuning/reviews/14344

Incredibly comfortable - probably the most comfortable fit you'll get outside customs.  And yes - the DN-1000 can get uncomfortable after a while - same with the DN2K.  Its just the girth of them.  It's not until you start using very ergonomic shapes that you realise how much better something like the Curve (or other ergonomic fits) can be.

The DN-x000 all extend to far out from the head for me to sleep on my side. If you are a back sleeper then no problem.

My grey stock tips seem to be coming off and staying in my ear when i take out the phones lately.  Probably quite worn from all my abuse.  Currently using the clear/white silicone tips and they seem to be staying put.  What other tips can i try?  I use the small tips, as the medium ones tend to get painful - especially noticeable after taking the earphones out.  I do also have the JVC spiral dot and epfx8m (or whatever), but those are medium and are fine but I don't like them on the DN2K too much.  Where can i get other silicone tips (even cheapies) that will fit.  What about spinfit - but which ones - the DN2K is 45mm bore i think hey.
If the small silicone fits and the medium JVC, then what size should i look at?  Preferably looking for silicone tips.

How do these compare to RHA t20?

I don't know why you aren't getting any replies. I have no clue about the RHA t20, so I can't answer you. But I sure do like my Dn-2000s.

I tried the t20 at an airport a month or so ago.  I was very impressed with the sound from the default filter.  I didn't try the other filters since I was also trying the AKG K1500.

If I recall correctly, the t20 and the DN-2000 sound very similar with the DN-2000 maybe having a bit more bass impact.  Overall, I would be happy to own either.  The t20 is certainly more comfortable
