Completely lost with which affordable headphones to buy!

Hi, I'm new. I've been searching the internet for days now, scrolling through endless headphone threads etc, I still can't find any headphones that really appeal to me from reviews.

My Situation: Under £120 if possible, Closed, Need them for late night mixdowns, but also for travelling, buses/trains etc. Since I need them for travelling, I'm assuming I'll need a low impedance due to lack of amp. I had a pair of Sony's before, MDR-v6, they didn't have enough bass response for me. Bass response is quite important due to the genre of music I work in, high focus on sub etc.

Is it impossible? I've been using iPhone 5 earbuds recently for mixdowns, so surely most headphones would be an improvement? The iPhone 5 earbuds have a surprisingly low bass response though, most likely because they're stuffed inside my ears.

not at all. 120gbp seems like a sweet spot for a lot of closed headphones.

I know you are looking for more bass. But coming from MDR v6 a a lot of headphones would deliver that easily.

So I suggest looking at more so called balanced soundsuignature instead of bassy headphones.

Also have you considered on ears?

If you are looking for on ears...HD 25-1 Ii basic. Fits your pricepoint.

Over ears:

UE 6000. With NC out its balanced. With NC on...Basscanon. v sound.

The Beyerdynanics COP. Are basscanons..but you can play with the amount of bass you get.

Cheaper Overears:

Creative CAL. Quite a bit cheaper, Maybe to much bass for you.

Slightly higher priced.

Vmoda  M100s

Vmoda m80s

I bet they are way more. JVCs, AKG and some sennys or chinese headphones.

I've looked at the Senny HD25 II's online and people say they're bad for mixdowns? Is this true?

I've researched a bit more, and I think it's between the HD25 1 ii's, the HD25 SP's, and the ATH-M50

Any other recommendations?
