I am planning on buying a sound blaster ZX which handles up to 600ohm impedance.

My ears seem to agree well with the Sennheiser sound.

If I had it my way I would get HD 598s, but they leak way way too much sound into the room.

I tried out a pair of sennheiser HD 380s which sounded good to me and leaked no sound, but they cancelled out too much noise to the point I couldn't hear my wife callig my name.

My current gaming headset is a Steelserives 5HV2 3.5mm jack version.

It sounds ok, but gets tinny or raspy sounding on big noises and high frequency sounds.

The pleather pads on the HD380s were ok, but I really liked the material ones on my 5HV2s

So what I need is an over ear headset or headphone, that is, or sounds, like a nice set of sennheisers with clean base, not a fartbox, and beautiful mids and highs; that also allows in enough outside sound to not make my wife hit me, but keeps in enough sound to not make my wife hit me.

I would like to keep the price under 200, but am open to suggestions if there is a home run out of the ball park reccomendation within a close margin to 200.

I am Canadian but can ship to an Ameriacn address, so I am open to suggestions either side of the border.

I am not pickey in the headset vs headphone department and have read Mad Envy's guide as well as the guides posted on Reddit's Headphone forums.

If you need more info just ask, I really just don't want to go through the pain of buying another headset to only have it not workout and have to try and resell it.

Thanks in Advance!

You might consider saving some cash and just get the Z card, the Zx comes with that ACM module, but I've heard it can have a negative effect on audio quality.

My issue with that is having to either plug my headset into my speakers or then direct into the card at the back. Jus not an ideal setup. I will google the issues though and appreciate the heads up.
