Headphone jack stopped working on Samsung Galaxy S4

I hope you can help me, my S4 headphone jack stopped working and I wondered if I could use one of these two cable to to bypass the internal headphone AMP on the S4.

Is it possible to use the S4 DAC and bypass the internal AMP and use a external AMP?

The 2nd one should work, and as you say you need to plug the other end of the cable into a portable headphone amplifier, otherwise you won't be able to regulate the sound.

I would try to find one with a MUCH shorter cable (and make sure it terminates with a male 3.5mm jack), as your phone and amp will be beside each other, and any cable longer than 5cm will just get annoying.

Thanks for getting back to me, I will order the cable you suggested and hopefully I can use my phone for music again.
