I'm planning to buy a Sansa Clip+ as a portable player and as I'm pretty new to these things, I had a few questions.
First, do I rockbox or not rockbox the Clip+? From reading other posts, I've heard that there are no cons with rockboxing the Clip+, but I have heard a few say that the Clip+ doesn't need rockboxing.
Second, should I buy an amp for my Clip+? I'm on a bit of a budget (which is why I'm getting the Clip), and I would likely go with the FiiO E6. I'm using Shure SRH440s and I've heard both that I do need and that I do not need an amp. I would primarily use it for sound quality, as these headphones are loud enough for me through most devices.
So my ultimate question is, which is my best option?
-Unrockboxed Clip+ with no amp (just the Clip+)
-Rockboxed Clip+ with FiiO E6
-Unrockboxed Clip+ with FiiO E6
I would likely be using files from Windows Media Player which have been ripped from CDs. I mostly listen to 60s-90s rock and some rap. I'm pretty new to these things, so a simple answer would be appreciated.
