It's better by the hour as it gets more burn time. It will be worth the wait Lorspeaker. I waited for mine for about more than 2 weeks.

I saw here somewhere, that the FX850 is said to sound like the Fostex TH600/TH900

Got the FX850 and have the TH900 as well, so I would like to make a side by side comparison

First of all, the FX850 is the best IEM I ever heard, and thanks to a friend (james444) I had the chance to hear some of the best IEMs on the market.

I know the comparison is very unfair, as the one is IEM and the other a big-a**-phone, and it’s 370$ vs 1500$.... but after listening to the TH900 and the FX850 side by side, it’s simply difficult for me to enjoy the FX850

Yes, it is still the best IEM ever for me, but the TH900 is just so good and refined, that it only takes less than a minute to realize that the TH900 simply trounces the FX850 in every possible sound department. The leap in sq going from FX850 to TH900 is like going from apple earpods to the fx850

Sorry guys, I wished it wouldn’t be like that and really hoped that the fx850 could keep up with the Th900.

Just wanted to post my impressions, so that people don’t have too high expectations…. the FX850 is amazing at what it is, but it is unfortunately no TH900  :-(

as long as they are punching in their respective price/value bracket that should do...

if the fx850 punches a bracket above, that would be sweet.

i hate to pit an iem against a bigcan...even if it is a D2000 for eg.

As much as I really enjoy the FX850, I feel much better having spent $290 for them instead of the suggested $499 retail price.

In my experience, there is no doubt they compete well with iems under $400 such as UM3x, Westone 3, IE80 and RE600 but then again, I had a hard time justifying any of them being truly worth over $300.

Some say the FX850 compete well with Iems costing much more such as IE800, AKG-3003, Fitears 334. I haven't heard any of them but I think this portable audio industry is way over priced in general. WAYYYYYY OVER PRICED.

Indeed.  Have you tried the Zero Audio Tenore?  Flysweep loves them and he also has UERM and JH13 Pro.  ShotGunShane loves them and he has AKG 3003 and UERM.

I agree....I can't see paying $1000 or even $2000 for a pair of tiny little iems...but that is just me.

I haven't tried them but at $55 and since my son needs earbuds replacements, I'll look into it. Thanks for the suggestion : )
