Up for sale here is the legendary Denon AH-D2000! I never thought I'd sell these, but they don't get much use and I
thought I'd see if anyone else wants them.
I'm the first owner and I bought them about 18 months ago. They work perfectly and are in all-round excellent condition (I'd rate them 9/10 on the audiogon scale). They come with the original box and 6.3mm adapter. The only signs of use are:
1) Some very light marks to the plastic cups. They're not obvious, and you can only really see them from certain angles. I've tried my best to show these in the pictures.
2) Two places where there are tiny chips to the finish on the metal cup holders. Again, I've tried my best to show these in the pictures.
The stock pads are still more or less new. I never really used them as I don't find them very comfortable & I much prefer velour pads. I tried a few alternative pads, and finally settled on Hifiman HE-400 velour pads (which fit perfectly and work very well, in my opinion.)
The headband pad is also in perfect condition as I always used a wrap-around sleeve, as seen in one of the pictures.
The cable has been replaced with the cable from a Denon D5000. This still sounds the same as stock, and looks pretty much stock as well. The new cable improves the comfort & ergonomics of the D2000s significantly. The stock D2000 cable is very stiff and gets twisted up all the time; The D5000 cable is much more flexible and 'premium' feeling.
I think that the new cable is a significant upgrade on what was the one weak point of these headphones. The D5000 cable was purchased new (from Mark Lawton) and the cable swap was done proffessionally at a local audio & electronics repair shop.
From a non smoking, pet-free home. Any other questions please just ask!
EDIT to say: I'm not interested in any trades, sorry!
EDIT to say: I still have the original cable (now pictured) and it can be included if the buyer wants it.
