I think it's just because they're hard to find in the wild. There are only about five reviews that I'm aware of and none of them are the big reviewer names: Dale's YouTube review, a terrible one on InEarSpace, AVForums, Stozz, and two by HeadFi Journey (prototype and final). Plus the thread on here is pretty anemic, they do not exist in physical stores anywhere in the US, there is ONE American dealer online, and they're expensive. So people would be dropping $800 to get a headphone they aren't able to audition and has very, very few reviews.
It's a real shame, like you said, because these are unbelievably good headphones. I had this bad feeling I would be a victim of wanderlust and having "Head-Fi Syndrome" forever, always searching out a new pair, something more, something better. Put on the PH6 and... nope. I'm done. My desire to upgrade was immediately squelched. At this point my biggest struggle is finding new albums to play through them.
Good luck on the sale, if there was any justice in this world you'd have people knocking your door down.
