Over ear Headphones for Vocal Trance/EDM

Dear all,

First of all congrats for this forum and all your recommendations. My current situation is that I started in the headphones world on quite a wrong foot when I bought the Sony MDR-200XD. At first I saw 'positive' reviews (obviously not from audio enthusiasts) and were around $55 (a ripoff), so I took a dive for them. Putting them on, I instantly realised these were not on.

After some months I bought the Philips SHE9550 (in-ear). Quite an improvement (although still cheap), except for the fact that the smallest earbuds fit tight in my ears and hurt after minutes that I put them on.

I would like to jump to something much better which will satisfy me for years to come. Ideal price range is up to $200.

I know and understand there were similar threads to this, so don't jump on me :) However I noticed that headphones mentioned were somewhat pricier even more when postage is taken into consideration.

Since my favourite is Vocal Trance, attention is given to female vocals, and deep, solid punchy bass without washing out the rest of the range. I shall be running them mainly from a laptop and a Denon micro system. Any suggestions please?

Closed would be better..

In the meantime, I found a good bargain on audio technica pro700mk2. Can be run easily and noted for its bass. Some say it's even better than M50.

What do you think guys?
