I am just wondering , because all my files are in flacs and i dont keep mp3 anymore ,

i plan to get a 128 GB micro SDXC for my Sony Xperia Z1 Compact in the next month .

and im wondering if the sound quality of my flacs will degrade in anyway when played via a phone.
and will it maintain it's sonic integrity ?

Just checking before i spend a sum on them :)

The Android will not down convert the FLAC files.

But can your Android even play FLAC files?

I have no idea myself, but you might want to look up the audio capabilities of your Android phone.

The majority of android devices come with software that will play back flac (even ogg) but if not there are plenty of third party music players that will (I use the free version of N7)  I convert the flac files on my desktop down to 256kbps aac for my phone.  I doubt you'll be able to tell the difference.

The flac files will still be lossless on your phone but it's just a waste of space imo.
