will I loose resolution if I transfer 24bit audio to 16bit & then back to 24bit?

I have an Korg D1600MKII digital recorder which offers 8trks @ 24bit & 16trks @ 16bit.

My question is:

If i transfer my recorded 8 x 2 24bit trks to 16bit for editing, will i lose resolution when transferring them back into 24bit for mixing & mastering?

Appreciate any insight you can offer in this matter, Thanks!

Just record at 16 bit to start with.  The only thing you gain going to 24 bit is a larger dynamic range.  98 db vs 144 db...

yea once you downsample, going back doesnt add anything to it

But it might be beneficial to work with mixing and mastering in 24-bit, just for the ease.
