Need help with choosing new desktop speakers

Hi guys.

Currently  i have  Asus  Essence  ST+Acoustic Energy Aego M but  speakers  i got for  8 years already and  i noticed in this  thread http://www.whathifi.com/review/acoustic-energy-aego-m-system that  it seems  they outdated  now, since desktop speakers standarts been rised  in past years. I looking  into Ruark Audio MR1 ( tho they expensive  in my  country) or Monitor  Audio MS100( bit less expensive). Problem that  i dont have  much space  on desktop so cant  buy good passive speakers+amplifier ( also that will cost alot) but want to improve music  listening. So any tips? Will be  any difference with new speakers with that sound card? Or  probably there are better sound cards already? Hope some1 will answer. Thanks.

This is not a headphone question.  You are probably not fishing in the right pond.  Here your best bet is to post it somewhere in the "Equipment Forums" section of the forum.

I know more about desktop speakers than I know about headphones (and that's saying a lot).

Hands down, get the Harman Kardon GLA-55. I recently wrote a review on them. It's worth the investment. Strong active speakers built in amp with a Sub out if you need it (you wont). Also limited edition to 3000, and look slick as hell.

Yes--the new system has a few bugs.
