Beyerdynamic DT 880

Thread Starter

As a gamer, I really want to have good positional audio while gaming, but also having a strong amount of bass. I also would like a semi-open headphone, so I can talk to my friend whilst gaming, and also have amazing comfort at the same time.

In all the reviews I've seen, the Beyerdynamic DT 880 Pros (80 Ohm) fit very well in this category. What do you guys think about this headphone? Is it bad, good, or ugly?

I decided to step up from half decent headphones and from the worst of headsets to these beauties. Yes, I have read Mad Lust Envy's Headphone Guide to Gaming, and the positional audio doesn't seem to bad, and it looks as if it could impress me!

So if anyone can help me in this headphone quest, I'd be glad.

If you want strong bass, get the DT990.

The DT880 Pro 250-Ohm headphones provide a very balance audio sound, good for music, movies and gaming.

But do require a decent headphone amplifier to sound their best.

What exactly are you going to be plugging the headphone into?

One of problems may be that the OP mentions an 82 Ohm version that I do not think exists.  As far as I know the DT 880 comes in only 32, 250 and 600 Ohm versions.
