both the dt1350 and amperior are on the innerfidelity wall of fame.   you can read the full reviews of each to get a good description.  there are other models i believe mentioned on that site as well.  check it out

Check out this thread.  There's a lot of good information here that i think answer some of your questions/concerns.

Thanks for the responses, all.

As of now, it's between the Amperior and the DT1350. The SRH-840's looking nice, too. This thread has really helped me narrow it all down with the finer details in mind. All things considered, I can be left off with a decision between the two, but any added details, should anyone feel so inclined, would still be appreciated.

The Amperior is often compared to the HD 25 to have similar qualities in terms of sound. According to a review, the HD25s are better suited for pop, rock, and electronic music, leading me to believe that it's not exactly as neutral as the DT1350. That would imply that the Amperiors are also better suited for the listed genres, rather than being as neutral as the DT1350. Now, I know that I'm running on a really thin line here, but the link that luberconn posted suggests that the Amperior is "slightly more neutral and coherent sounding" than the DT1350s. I feel like I'm taking too much for granted asking for clarification on an issue as petty as this, but with the two contradicting each other (?), it's difficult to make a faithful decision, especially when the amperiors look so cool.

:) Thanks for reading. Clarification is nice, but off-hand recommendations-- or anything-- is great, too!
