I'm looking for headphones that are comfortable with glasses, isolate quite well, have a short or detachable cable, are presentable in public, have a good sound signature for electronic music (Electro House, Trap, Deep House; deal well with sub-bass), and are portable. After browsing these forums and Amazon, I found some good fits for me might be the Beyerdynamic DT 770 and the Sennheiser HD 439.
The DT 770 look like great headphones, but the cable is quite long for use with an iPod, the price is pretty high, and from what I hear, the sound signature is geared toward sound engineers.
I'm not sure about the HD 439 either. I hear it leaks, and I don't know how it does with glasses. Now for the questions:
1. Would adding the leather earpads from the HD 449 help with sound leakage over the existing velour pads?
2. Are the HD 439 (with either the velour or leather earpads) comfortable with glasses. Not wearing glasses is not an option for me, and I wear plastic "hipster" glasses with moderately thick arms (about 3/4" at the thickest point). My current headphones (Koss UR-20) seem to rest on the arm of the glasses both in front of and behind my ear. I can't wear the headphones for longer than an hour without the pressure on my skull being too much.
If there are any other headphones that would fit most of my extremely specific criteria, feel free to suggest. My criteria above is listed in order of importance if you care.
